3D Dental CBCT examination
Modern 3-dimensional CBCT technology is playing an increasingly important role in the discovery of dental problems, in the design of treatments and in implantology. The experienced team of 1st Dent Dentistry in downtown Budapest, awaits patients with one of the most advanced equipment currently available. Dental Cone Beam Computer Tomography (CBCT) uses X-rays to create layered images of the jaws and teeth cross-sections, from which the computer assembles a 3-dimensional image. The CBCT gives an image of millimeter accuracy, which provides invaluable information to the dentist. CBCT only exposes the patients to about 90% less radiation than the conventional dental CT so the health risk from radiation can be minimized. During the examination, the patient is in a sitting or lying position and leaning his head on the forehead support while staying still. Swallowing, speaking, or moving is not allowed during the procedure, as it may impair the quality of the images. During the test, the rotating unit of the device makes several turns around the patient’s head. Positioning the device takes a few minutes, while recording an image takes less than a minute. The procedure is painless and has no after effects, so you can leave immediately after completing it.
